Westminster Presbyterian Church Is proud to welcome
Dr. Zuhair Fathalla
A lay pastor and physician from Iraq
As he speaks on Monday, Sept. 30th at 7 pm

Dr. Fathalla is a lay pastor in Basrah, a town in Iraq, that sits between Iran and Kuwait. He is also a plastic surgeon and has worked with the congregation there to help with medical needs, opening a Kindergarten & broadcasting a Christian radio station.

This is a great chance to hear about the current situation in that area of the world from someone who actually lives and works there. A question and answer period will follow Dr. Fathalla’s remarks.
This informative evening is free of charge and open to the public.

Since this Sunday, Sept. 8th, is the beginning of Christian Education Week we will be doing a “Blessing of the Backpacks” during our Children’s time during 10:30 worship. All kids are asked to bring their Backpacks with them and we have a little something special they can attach to their backpacks.

We’ll also be looking at 6 backpacks and trying to decide from the contents just which Biblical person might have carried that pack.

This should be a fun way to send the kids off to school with a special blessing for each and every day.

Kids – don’t forget those backpacks !! See you Sunday.

Our Sunday School program will get underway again beginning this Sunday, Sept. 8th at 9 am. We will be gathering for a time of food and Fellowship and also to find out what we will be learning in our first quarter.

Pre-school – 2nd grade will meet together and will re-examine some old familiar Bible Stories. The 3rd – 5th graders will be working on Bible Usage skills. The Jr. & Sr. high class will be completing their Confirmation Requirements and the Adults will be studying some lesser known ( and really short ) books of the Bible.

We have some new tablets for the students to use this year with some really fun games on them. Different teachers will be taking them home each week to get them setup for the following Sundays. We are very excited about helping the students Make A Connection with Jesus this year.
